Where do I find my reviews?

All reviews come together in your Google Business Profile — free of charge and without additional software:

On desktop

Open business.google.com, select your business and click “Reviews” in the left-hand menu.

On your phone

Open the “Google Business Profile” app and tap “Reviews” at the bottom.

Via Google Search

Search for your business name and click the star rating in the information panel.

Tip: a bookmark for business.google.com saves time — no need to click your way through every time.

How to reply to reviews properly

A reply shows not only the reviewer but every future customer that someone at your company cares. That has a direct positive effect on trust in your business.

Positive reviews

  • Say thank you briefly and personally — one or two sentences are enough.
  • Where possible, pick up on a detail from the review instead of using a generic phrase.
  • Don’t append promotional messages — the reply should read like a genuine thank-you, not an advert.

Critical or negative reviews

  • Stay calm and reply factually, even if the criticism feels unfair.
  • Take the issue seriously and briefly explain how you are handling it.
  • Don’t hash out details in public — offer a phone call or an email instead.
  • Avoid admissions of fault or legally sensitive statements in the public reply.

“A calm, professional reply to a bad review is often perceived more positively by later readers than the original criticism itself.”

When a review looks unfair or fake

Not every negative review comes from a real customer. Google only removes a review in specific cases, for example:

Insults and hate speech

Inappropriate language or personal attacks violate Google’s policies.

Spam and off-topic content

Advertising, links or text that clearly has nothing to do with your business.

Conflicts of interest

Reviews written by competitors or former employees.

No genuine customer contact

Reviews that evidently aren’t based on any actual contact with your business.

Important: Google will not remove a review simply because it is negative. The check can also take several days. In the meantime, a factual public reply is still worth it.

Keep opening hours and basic details up to date

Outdated opening hours are one of the most common causes of customer frustration — and of bad reviews that are easy to avoid.

  • Add your regular opening hours in the Business Profile under “Info”.
  • Enter different hours for public holidays or vacations in good time as “special hours”.
  • Check your phone number, address and website link regularly.

These details take just a few clicks to update and have an immediate effect on customer satisfaction.

Establish a fixed routine

Google reviews take very little time to maintain once you have a steady rhythm in place.

15–20minutes per week
  • read and answer new reviews
  • check open questions on your profile
  • verify opening hours and contact details
  • upload new photos when needed

That keeps your profile in good shape permanently, without turning it into a daily chore.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have a bad review deleted?
Only if it violates Google’s policies, for example through spam, insults or a conflict of interest. A negative but factually worded review will usually stay online.
How quickly should I reply to a review?
Within a few days is perfectly fine. A considered, professional reply matters far more than speed.
Do I have to reply to every review?
Not necessarily, but it is recommended — especially for critical reviews. If you receive a lot of positive reviews, answering a selection personally is enough.
What should I do about an obviously fake review?
Submit it through Google’s reporting function and reply factually in public in the meantime, in case the review stays visible while the check is running.
